I have regularly participated in Charity Events that are either Walking or Running related, I had always wanted to take part in the Midnight Walk which takes place in Mellieha. The walk is around 22km and attendees will sign up in advance and walk from one side of the island to the other in the night hours. The walk is really well organised and has gained tremendous popularity over the years, it started with one man (Joseph Vella) in 2003 who walked for several hours and then next time convincing his friend to join him. Now many years later the walk has raised money for worthwhile charities (Puttinu Cares Foundation) and continues to gain momentum year after year.

I participated in 2016 alongside many friends, the atmosphere was pretty amazing and given the chance to travel there again it is something that I would most certainly do again.

As you walk through the streets of Malta it is a different experience in the early hours of the morning, if you are lucky enough to catch the sunrise the experience will also be the most memorable sunrise that you will be lucky enough to see whilst on the island.
